Mera Peak at (6,476m/21,247ft) is a mountain in the Mahalangur section, and few days walk from Lukla. Yes, at 6,476 metres it is still classified as a trekking peak. Mera Peak is one of the most popular trekking peaks-fairly easy access and minimal technical difficulties, make it an ideal testing ground for somone wishing to climb higher mountains in the future. You really do not have to have much climbing experience to scale this rather high mountain- one thing we ask you is to be fit! Be in the best shape you can be and your chancess of success are quite high!

Day 1 Nov 3 Arrive in Kathmandu

Day 2 Nov 4 Briefing and gear checks in Kathmandu

Day 3 Nov 5 Fly to Lukla and trek to Chutanga (10,000ft)

Day 4 Nov 6 Trek to Kharki Teng (11,500ft)

Day 5 Nov 7 Trek over Jatra La Pass (15,000ft) and descent to Thuli Kharka (14,100ft)

Day 6 Nov 8 Trek to Khote (11,600ft)

Day 7 Nov 9 Trek to Tagnag (14,500ft)

Day 8 Nov 10 Acclimatisation day in Tagnag (day walk)

Day 9 Nov 11 Trek to Khare (17,000)

Day 10 Nov 12 Acclimatisation and glacial skills practice day.

Day 11 Nov 13 Climb to Mera La BC (18,000ft)

Day 12 Nov 14 Climb to High Camp (19,000ft)

Day 13 Nov 15 Climb to Mera Peak summit and back down to Khare

Day 14 Nov 16 Khare to Kothe (11,800ft) 5-6hrs  

Day 15 Nov 17 Kothe to Thuli Kharka (14,100ft) 5-6 hrs 

Day 16 Nov 18 Thuli Kharka to Lukla (9,000ft) 6-7 hrs

Day 17 Nov 19 Fly to Kathmandu

Day 18 Nov 20 Contingency for weather

 

We can save additional 3 days by flying helicopter from Khote to Luka (2 Days of walking+no need to wait for flight out of Lukla) For this option, there is an additional cost $500 per person and can be arranged in Khatmandu or even after summiting Mera Peak (we need four people to keep the price for helicopter)

-The Best way to fly to Kathmandu (KTM) is from the West Coast of The United States. There are multiple Chinese Airlines offering round trip fares from $500-$700 Sometimes, Turkish Airlines, Emirates or Quatar Airlines have good options using their Middle East hubs.

-Nepali tourist visa can be obtained hassle free on arrival in Kathmandu; currently, the fee for 60 day visa is $40
Please have 2 passport photos and exact change redily available.
